Wedding Couture – Alissia Bridal Couture
Today is about all things yellow-lemon yellow, sunshine yellow, buttercup yellow, all being brought together to create a quirky shoot starring the bespoke bridal gown designs of Alissia Bridal Couture, designer of bridal wear which is described as vintage glamour fused with couture.
Selinna the creative force behind Alissia Bridal picks up the story……
On the ninth of April I opened my inbox to find an exciting opportunity from photographer friend Kelly Weech.
Kelly had run a rock the dress competition for one lucky Bride to wear her wedding dress again, as well as this she wanted to pull together a fashion inspired yellow shoot with a vintage feel.
Kelly asked if I had something a bit quirky yet still giving that vintage feel; she had a few other suppliers involved but needed the right dress to pull everything together.
I of course jumped at the chance to make something a different, that little bit of vintage but with my own twist but didn’t have anything already available. So the only thing to do was make something to fit the theme. The catch! Yes the catch was the shoot was on the 20th of April so left me with just 10 days to get the dresses made.
Beautiful hair accessories by Estrella Design.
The Beautiful bride and model Natalie came in for her measurements and with wanting 2 looks I decided to try on a tartan fifties number I had made a while ago but had never used in a shoot. The dress fitted perfectly so with that I only had to concentrate on making one brand new dress.
Gorgeous floral designs by Josephine Fabulous Flowers.
My vision was to keep the shape of the fifties skirt but add hip pads to change the shape just slightly giving it a 18th century pannier feel. The top of the dress I wanted to be in keeping with my corseted style dresses so made a simple silk corset with an elongated front to resemble the corsets also of the 18th century era.
To finish the look I made on the morning of the shoot a yellow Dahlia hair comb with detachable birdcage veil and fabric flower hair clip.
The setting of the shoot was the beautiful grade II listed Ingleside House based in Cirencester, it was a warm sunny day with some amazingly talented Gloucestershire based suppliers.
We were fortunate to have the talented The Vintage Hire on board to provide props and styling.
The beautiful ruffled lemon cake was created by Little Darling Cakery.
hair and makeup for our lovely model was by Samantha Davis.
We had a fabulous VW camper van from VWDo weddings that looked amazing with the lemon dress.
Fabulous dresses, gorgeous styling and a lovely cheerful colour scheme. Thankyou to Alissia Couture for sharing. If you have a shoot you would like us to feature, or maybe a theme you would like us to bring to life, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.Bye for now, Jenny.
