Staffordshire Weddings – Dunwood Hall Roaring Twenties Inspiration
Well the Roaring Twenties are bang on trend at the moment with films such as The Great Gatsby and TV series’ like Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge and you can see why. Effortlessly glamorous, a carefree era of fun, sophistication and beautiful people. So when we saw the fabulous Dunwood Hall for the first time, we knew that there was only one suitable theme.
Built in 1871, Dunwood Hall is a family home that can be hired out as a wedding venue. It really is a gem of a find-a gracious manor house that oozes elegance but is homely and welcoming at the same time. Log fires crackle merrily, antiques and family photos fill each room and light pours into the rooms from the humungous bay windows.
We saw the peacock feathers at Dunwood Hall and knew we wanted to incorporate them into our theme, so we went for Roaring Twenties glamour with peacock feathers and pearls.
Our gorgeous model, Bianca Sadler, had never modelled before and follows a growing line of Love me Love My Wedding readers who have answered our appeal for real women to appear in our styled shoots. We think she is just perfect-how about you?
We had some amazing suppliers involved in this shoot. All the jewellery was made especially for the shoot, by Love Divine, an exclusive online boutique, who use freshwater pearls, vintage crystals and lace, antique brooch pieces and recycled jewellery elements to create either a ready to wear collection or one-off pieces designed to your requirements.
The gorgeous wedding gowns were provided by Elle Louise Bridal, who chose dresses from the new Justin Alexander Collection. Full of intricate beading, delicate fabrics and feminine silhoeuttes, they were perfect for the Roaring Twenties theme.
Our fabulous florist was Emma Williams, who embraced the vibrant peacock colour to create beautiful bouquets and centre pieces.
A very special mention must go to our very talented makeup artist who styled our models to perfection. Fiona Brunt captured the Roaring Twenties spirit perfectly with porcelain skin, smokey eyes and strong lip colour.
The striking art nouveau style stationery was exclusively designed for us by the utterly divine Hattie Boo Designs. Colour pop peacock feathers in shades of green and blue-stunning.
Now we really should bring our dapper leading man in at this point. Jack oozes 20th century sophistication in his sharp grey traditional suit with peacock blue cravat by Formal Approach .
Time to introduce the second of our marvelous models, the lovely Leah Bradbury.
Leah wore a fabulous hair comb with feather and vintage jewellery by Love Divine.
The grant entrance hallway of Dunwood Hall, with its HUGE fireplace and piano were the perfect backdrop.
Our leading man Jack got in on the action again and as he is Leah’s boyfriend in real life could get extra cosy .
Emma Williams provided some fabulous floral designs too. Love the use of peacock feathers in the mantle centre piece.
Leah”s fabulous Roaring Twenties inspired hair and makeup by Fiona Brunt is just gorgeous.
I really love the dramatic red in these images and our photographer, McAvoy Wedding Photography certainly made the most of the fabulous surroundings.
Thankyou to our fabulous team of talented wedding suppliers that made this shoot possible. Glamorous, nostalgic and inspirational and most of all totally achievable for any bride. If you didn’t see our fab Friday film by Unforgettable Memories from the same shoot please take a look-sooo good. http://www.lovemelovemywedding.com/friday-film-unforgettable-memories-at-dunwood-hall/
