  • The Wedding Carnival – Leigh Sports Village Stadium

On Saturday 6th October the fabulous Kelly & Colette from All Wrapped Up Events make their successful return as organisers of the fabulous Wedding Carnival. Now this is a wedding show but not as we know it so what makes it so differnt? Over to Kelly and Colette to explain.

Why did you decide to call this the Wedding Carnival?

I often feel that the wedding “fayres” don’t really suit us. They do the job, but we always thought if we could do one what would we do?? We wanted something fun, something that hadn’t been done before, and so “The Wedding Carnival” was born.

How many suppliers are you expecting at the carnival?

We have over 30 suppliers attending on the day, and many more who have contributed to the goodie bags

How much does it cost to attend the carnival?

    Entrance is FREE

How many brides are you expecting at the carnival?

We are hoping for 200 couples on the day {weather permitting} even more…

Are there any competitions, special offers, free gifts available for brides?

The first 200 brides to register will receive a free goodie bag and also we have 50 Grooms bags also! A few suppliers may be running little competitions, but we are trying to make this more about an interactive day rather than a day of endless sign up sheets. After attending all couples will receive a listing of everyone involved in the day.

What makes your show different to other wedding exhibitions?

We tend to do a lot of Wedding Fayres with various organisers and most times although they do the job and we get bookings we always feel a bit flat, we stand behind our table enticing couples with offers and sign up deals and badger anyone walking past by offering free sweets and chatter.

We end up wandering around, trying to get a laugh out of fellow exhibitors, doing silly things and keeping ourselves occupied (which mainly ends up with me being told I was never at the stand..)

We tried to inject fun, interaction, inspiration and a good feel to the day, we held our first one in March and it worked, we had great feedback, We also made it into a day that we enjoyed, we worked with the suppliers we love and trust and who had a mutual respect within the industry.

We did inspiration areas where we had groups of suppliers working together, we did classes and had a really good laugh along the way! Trestle tables were only used if necessary, we encourage people to be creative with space and we definitely had no dividers ha ha!!

We catered for all budgets small to large , yes of course we made a few mistakes on the way.. put our trust in the wrong place a few times..mailing list issues and me being practically deaf in one ear meant leaving me to control the sound was a bad idea ha ha!!

But now we know, and we’ve learnt, we got feedback and this time round we intend to improve.

What can brides expect from your catwalk shows?

The Catwalk is being run by the lovely Debbie at Glamour Bridal Bolton, its set to be fun, happy.. a real lack of the “pout” and more of the smiles will happen and a few random props along the way!

The day is also being filmed by Chapelford Films for Wedding TV !

So there you have it.. if you fancy a wedding show with more fun and interactivity than the average show then this is for you. Get yourslef to Leigh Sports Village between 11 and 4 on Saturday 6 October. It’s free so what have you got to lose?  Get involved and get inspired.
