Danby Castle – Cinderella Wedding Inspiration

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young princess called Megan Robinson. She dreamed of parties and princes but she was stuck in her castle studying for her A levels so life was very dreary.

Then one day Princess Megan’s fairy godmother from Love Me Love My Wedding granted her one day off from her studies to dress in her finest gown and dance the night away with a hired Prince.” There is just one condition”, said Fairy Godmother, “you must be home by midnight so you can crack on with that studying and whatever you do, do not lose those shoes-they’ve been made especially for you by Le Soulier and I’ll be in big trouble if you do!”

So Princess Megan was dressed in her finest gown by Agape Bridal, was beautified by Kate Pymm Makeup, had beautiful blooms from Verdure Floral Design and slipped into those beautiful handpainted shoes by Le Soulier and off to the ball she went…..

Megan was one of our first real women to model at our styled shoots for the blog. We want to show that everyone can look and feel fabulous in wedding gowns with professional stylists, you don’t need experience if you have the right photographer to guide you and readers- tell me honestly what’s the verdict?

So on a very cold and blustery January day a crack team of wedding suppliers converged from all corners of England to Danby Castle in North Yorkshire for the second of our Twisted Fairytale styled shoots, Cinderella. With movies coming to our screens with a new twist on old tales-Hansel and Gretel, Witch Hunters, Jack the Giant Slayer and Oz, The Great and Powerful, this style is current, whimsical and romantic. Who doesn’t want to dance the night away with a handsome prince?

So Megan awaited her prince sheltering from the inclement weather under a pastel pink and cream umbrella by Love Umbrellas.

Princess Megan liked to have her every move documented so she could show off her fabulousness to the other Princesses after the ball, so she always took her royal photographers, Colin Murdoch Studio and McAvoy Wedding Photography with her to special events.

Princess Megan dazzled her prince, Max Visna, in her designer wedding gown by Agape Bridal.

With a beautiful bouquet by Verdure Floral Design, a bespoke hair accessory by Julia David Vintage Design and fabulously elaborate hair and makeup by  Kate Pymm Makeup, what man could possibly resist?

“Princess Megan,” exclaimed the Prince, “You are a beauty to behold. Will you be my bride?” “Whoa, hold on there Prince Max! I only agreed to come to this ball so I could get dressed up and wear fabulous shoes! I never said anything about marriage!” cried Princess Megan and without further ado she was off.

She ran as fast as her Le Soulier shoes would carry her, through the grounds of Danby Castle, with Prince Max in hot pursuit.

But DISAAASTER DARLING! As Princess Megan fleed she lost one of the precious shoes! “Oh no! Fairy Godmother is going to kill me” cried Megan. Fear not, Prince Max found the exquisite footwear.

There is was, nestled amidst the floral creations of Verdure Floral Designs.

Now Prince Max wasn’t the brightest tool in the shed and he puzzled over how he could find the fair maiden to whom the shoe belonged.

In the meantime, Princess Megan had returned to the castle and was sat in her finery worrying about her lost shoe.

Eventually Prince Max discovered where Princess Megan lived and called upon her with the shoe.

“Why the shoe is a perfect fit my lady!” cried Prince Max. “Of course it is, you daft sod! I’ve still got the other one on the other foot!”

“Thanks for bringing it back Max, now if you don’t mind, I have another party to attend, before I crack on with that studying””. “You know your way out!”

And so Princess Megan snuck out of Danby Castle, well after her curfew to dance the night away in her Le Soulier shoes, minus Prince Max and lived happily ever after….

Thankyou to the fabulous team of suppliers that made this fairy tale shoot possible.
